Landscape design and construction for Perth's finest homes
This one shouldn't be a differentiator in the trades. But it is. We keep you informed throughout the build, what's happening, what's coming next and if something unexpected comes up, you hear it from us before you notice it yourself. You'll always have a direct line to Kale or Clare. No chasing. No silence. No surprises. And if something isn't right at the end, we come back and fix it. Full stop.
There's no point investing in quality plants and putting them in the wrong ground. Perth soils are notoriously difficult — hydrophobic, sandy and nutrient poor in many areas. Before anything goes in, we assess and prepare the soil properly. It's unglamorous work that nobody photographs, but it's the single biggest factor in whether your garden still looks great in year three.
Most landscapers plant what looks good in the nursery. We select species based on how they'll perform in your specific soil, aspect and microclimate over the next five to ten years. A plant that thrives in Cottesloe may struggle in Applecross. We know the difference and we design planting plans built to perform, not just to impress on day one.

Step 1. Discovery call: Free - Up to 15 minutes - No need to schedule
After you submit your enquiry, Clare from our team will give you a call the same or next business day — no need to book a time, we'll reach out to you. If we miss you, we'll leave a message and follow up the next day. Enquiries submitted over the weekend will receive a call the next business day.
This is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where Clare gets to know a bit about your project, your vision and your timeline. Depending on what you share, Clare can also give you a rough ballpark on what a project like yours typically costs — so you're not going in blind before committing to anything further.
It's also a chance for both of us to make sure we're the right fit before anyone commits to anything.
We're typically a good fit if:
You have a realistic budget for the scope of work you have in mind
You're happy to be involved in a collaborative design process
Your project isn't needed urgently — we work best with clients who have at least a month's lead time
If we're a good match, Clare will get you booked in for an on-site consultation with Kale.
Step 2. Consultation: 1 to 1.5hr on site with Kale
We come to you, walk the space together, and get clear on layout, budget, design style, plants, soil, irrigation and how you actually want to use the area. By the end, you'll have a clear direction — no more guessing, no more getting three vague quotes that go nowhere.
This session feeds directly into your design and proposal. It's also available as a standalone service if you just need expert eyes on your space before deciding what to do next.
Investment: $500 inc. GST — most clients find this pays for itself by avoiding costly changes mid-build.
Step 3. Design: Typically 4–8 weeks · From $2,000
Following your consultation, Kale will put together a design proposal outlining the scope of work discussed, the key areas to focus on, and how the design will be approached with your budget in mind. If you have a fixed number to work within, that drives every decision.
All designs are done in-house by Kale — not outsourced, not templated. That's why the timeline is what it is, and why the result is worth waiting for.
Your design package includes:
- Mood and style boards
- 2D planting and hardscaping plans
- Overall layout plan
- Plant and material lists
- Installation considerations
- A quote for construction based on the finalised design
- 3D renders are available on request for clients who want a more detailed visual before committing to construction.
This is a collaborative process.
If the initial design doesn't land quite right, that's completely normal, critique is encouraged. Revisions are part of the process and we'd rather get it right than have you settle for something that doesn't feel like yours.
The goal is always a design that can actually be built, works for how you live, and stays within what you've told us you want to spend.
The design is also a standalone service, if you decide not to proceed with construction after receiving your design, that's completely fine. You own the plans.
To get started on your design we'll need:
- A survey or building plans for your property — if you don't have these, we can organise them for you as part of the service
- Any style references — Pinterest boards, photos of gardens, materials or finishes you like
Step 4. Quote: Delivered with your design, or 1-2 weeks after consultation if plans are provided
If you've gone through our design process, your quote arrives alongside your finalised plans. If you're coming to us with existing plans, expect your quote within 1-2 weeks of your consultation, depending on the size of the project, complexity and what other trades are involved.
Your quote includes a detailed run sheet, a timeline that maps out exactly what happens and when during construction, so you're never left wondering what's going on or what's coming next.
Our quotes are fixed price. The number we give you is the number we stand by, with a few reasonable exceptions:
Unforeseen site conditions that couldn't be identified beforehand
Changes you request after the quote is issued
Material price increases on projects where construction is more than 3 months from the initial consultation
Changes of mind are absolutely welcome, just bear in mind that quoting large projects takes significant time, and if multiple rounds of changes are requested it may affect cost and turnaround.
Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date they're sent.
To accept your quote we'll request a deposit to secure your start date, with progress payments made throughout the course of the build.
Step 5. Construction Current lead time: approximately 2 months from quote acceptance
Once your quote is accepted and your deposit is received, we'll lock in your start date. Current lead time is around 2 months - worth factoring in early if you have a season or event you're working toward.
Construction timelines vary from as little as a week for smaller scopes, to a month or more for larger projects. Once we have a clear picture of your project we'll give you a realistic timeframe upfront.
You won't be left to figure it out yourself. Every project has a dedicated site supervisor overseeing progress and quality on the ground, and we handle all project management, coordinating trades, materials and sequencing so you don't have to.
If something comes up during the build whether that's a change of mind, an unexpected site issue, or something that just isn't sitting right, get in touch with Kale or Clare directly. We'll work through it with you, whether that means a variation quote, a revised approach, or simple problem solving on the spot.
If anything isn't right at the end of the project and it's on us, we'll come back and fix it. Full stop. Our job isn't done until you're satisfied with what's been built.
We service the Perth metropolitan area including the western suburbs, inner city, southern suburbs and eastern corridor. Areas include but are not limited to:
Coast & Northern — Scarborough, Trigg, Karrinyup, Stirling, Bayswater, Inglewood
Inner & Western — Subiaco, Wembley, Floreat, Claremont, Nedlands, Dalkeith
Southern — Fremantle, Melville, Applecross, Coogee
Eastern — Victoria Park, Maylands, Bentley, St James
Not sure if we cover your area? Give us a call and we'll let you know.
No, we don't have a minimum. Costs are dependant on the overall scope of work needed to execute your design. Budget expectations will be set during your discovery call.
Most installs require a design, whether that is done in house by our team or provided to us from client drawn accurate sketches, landscape designers or landscape architects.
It is essential that all parties are on the same page before we commence the process of landscaping:
1. To ensure we can accurately quote and you as the client what we are quoting against
2. So that our team and you as the client can interpret and define expectations prior to the construction phase of a project going ahead.
3. For planning and approval if they are deemed necessary or required.
For jobs under $20k and under, which include but not limited to, planting installation, one area of paving, irrigation and/or garden edging, formal plans aren't needed.
If you are unsure, call us to chat about your landscaping project.
